Could Electrical Impulses Relieve Chronic Pain by Stimulating the Vagus Nerve?

A new microanatomical study investigated in detail spatial arrangements of the nerve fibers and blood vessels in the ear to position the electrodes in the ear. Until now, physicians had to rely on experience to place the electrodes. The study captured high resolution photographs sectional images of tissue samples and then combined them into a three-dimensional model on the computer. Full story.
