Dear AAPM Member,
This year has been one of exciting growth and transformation for the American Academy of Pain Medicine as we position ourselves for a dynamic future. We are a vibrant, engaged community that is committed to cultivating the next generation of physician leaders. We invite all our members to be part of this exciting journey.
I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ryan D’Souza as the new Co-Chair of the Research Committee, where he will serve alongside Dr. Jennifer Hah. Dr. D’Souza has been actively involved with AAPM since his time as a Resident and Fellow, and we are thrilled to welcome him back in this leadership role. Together, Drs. D’Souza and Hah are developing the committee’s plans for 2025, just in time for our Call for Volunteers, which opens on October 15, 2024. If you are interested in serving on a particular committee please respond to this call!
We have also launched the 2025 AAPM Board of Directors Call for Nominations. This is a unique opportunity for you to shape the future of pain medicine and make a lasting impact on our Academy. Nominations will remain open until November 4, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Please take a moment to review the qualifications and consider nominating yourself or a colleague.
I’m excited to share that the 2024 AAPM Scholars Program is expanding, thanks to an educational grant from Mainstay Medical. This program now includes early-career interventionalists who have completed their Pain Medicine Fellowship within the past two years. Encourage your eligible colleagues to apply and let them know they can join AAPM at 25% off using the promo code: scholars24.
Our Academy’s future is bright, and we’re proud to have leaders who’ve been with us for years, as well as those just starting their journey. Together, we’ll continue advancing pain care and leadership in our field.
With Appreciation,
Charles Argoff, MD
AAPM President
