The AAPM Member Focus nominee for July 2022 is Jeremy A. Adler DMSc, PA-C. 

Jeremy is an active supporter of AAPM, most recently as a co-chair of the Advanced Practice Providers (APP) Shared Interest Group (SIG) and a member of the 2022 Annual Meeting Program Committee. 

In his role as co-chair, he helps the SIG advance and promote the education, research and clinical role of APRNs/PAs functioning in interprofessional pain management.

He is also a Founder’s Society member of the AAPM Foundation.

Outside of AAPM, Jeremy is one of the first PAs nationally to practice pain management and is co-owner of Pacific Pain Medicine Consultants in Oceanside, CA.

After receiving his undergraduate degree at UCSD, he went on to earn his PA degree in New York at one of the top public programs in the country, SUNY, Stony Brook. He then graduated at the top of his class with a summa cum laude designation.

Following graduation, Jeremy completed a specialty Masters’ Degree in Pain Management/Physical Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and earned a Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg. 

He regularly speaks nationwide on a variety of pain medicine topics and was a co-author on evidenced-based clinical practice guidelines jointly developed by the American Pain Society and AAPM on the use of opioids in non-cancer pain. 

In addition, he has held a variety of healthcare leadership positions in associations across the U.S. including the National Society of Pain Care Providers and the American Academy of PAs.
