The American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) is expanding its renowned Scholars Program to engage the next generation of pain medicine interventionalists – attending physicians who have completed their Pain Medicine Fellowship within the past two years – and are ready to expand their skills to help their patients in pain.

Program Format
The Fall 2024 Scholars Program consists of both didactics and hands-on cadaveric training. This workshop will focus on addressing impaired neuromuscular control and degeneration of the multifidus muscle linked to chronic low back pain. Much of the training on advanced procedures will be centered around restorative neurostimulation as the primary modality for the course. Space is limited, and all scholars must complete the advanced didactic training before attending the workshop in San Diego.

Required pre-program virtual meeting to be held on Wednesday, November 6th at 8pm ET/7pm CT/5pm PT.

Covered Expenses
AAPM will reimburse up to $400 for travel expenses and two hotel nights, pending the scholar’s distance from UCSD. Funding specifics will be provided with your scholar acceptance letter.

2024 Participation Application
The Fall 2024 program registration is limited to attending physicians 1-2 years post-fellowship in the western US (AZ, CA, CO, ID, MO, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, WY). Attendings’ institutions must be approved for ReActiv8. Attending physicians must be an active AAPM member. All registered participants must complete the course, including the pre-program virtual meeting on Wednesday, November 6th, for travel reimbursement.
