Abstract: Managing neuropathic pain in patients with advanced cancer can be challenging: it often requires an adjuvant analgesic and what works for one person may not work for another. Pain that is unresponsive to pharmacological approaches may require interventional procedures that are not usual in pain management. The effect of neuropathic cancer pain on patients is multidimensional and requires a multidisciplinary approach. Nurses play a key role in assessing the severity of the pain and its impact on quality of life, along with managing treatments.
