Mole-Rat Pain Resistance Could Point the Way to New Analgesics

In a study published in Science, a team assessed the responses of eight kinds of mole-rats and two other rodent species to three substances that normally elicit pain: acid, capsaicin, and allyl isothiocyanate (AITC), the substance that gives wasabi its fiery heat.
