Oregon Panel Drops Effort to Cut Opioids and Cover Chronic Pain

An Oregon committee has abandoned a controversial proposal that would have expanded treatment options for chronic pain patients under the Oregon Health Plan, but would have forced many to reduce dosages or discontinue prescription opioids. AAPM supported the letter, initiated by AAPM Past President Sean Mackey, MD PhD, to the Oregon Health Authority Health Evidence Review Commission (HERC).
